DIFFERENT TYPES OF LOCS

Locs are gathered strands that have intentionally matted up according toSisterlocked


TYPES OF LOCS. 

1. TRADITIONAL LOCS

This are the locs that are made with with finger coils or comb curls. This is called traditional because, it's this locs that comes to our mind when locs are mentioned. 


2. SISTERLOCKS

These locs are very tiny but their size ranges and they are not usually large. 


3. FREE-FORM LOCS

This locs are often referred to as organically or original dreads. They are formed by not taking too much care of the hair. Just like washing the hair and leaving it alone(no detangling, just washing). The locs take whatever shape they desire, and they are usually very large with unequal sizes. 


4. INTERLOCS

This locs are formed by crocheting the hair into each other (to my understanding). 


5. BRAIDLOCS

The hair is locked with micro to large braids but it might take a long time for the braid pattern to disappear.

  1. Locs usually formed on their own for some people right from birth. It seems to be the in thing now

    1. I don't think they are formed from birth. It is when the hair is undermaintained that the free form locs form. Which we call dahdah in Nigeria
