HOW TO KNOW YOUR NATURAL HAIR DENSITY.

Hair Density: This is the measurement of how much hair you have on your head
Or
Number of hair strands on your head.

Let me make this clear that hair texture is different from hair density.

Hair texture deals with the thickness of your hair strands while Hair density deals with the number of hair strands on our head/scalp (it's just like having a full hair or thin/scanty hair)

There are three ways in determining your hair density.
1. Count them :this involves counting the number of hairs on your head, the best way to do this is by counting the number of hair in one square of your scalp, an average person has approximately 2,200 strands of hair per square inch of their scalp. If it's less than 2,200 that's low density, if it's 2,200 that's medium density and if it's 2,200 and more that's high density 

2.Is your scalp visible? :do not part your hair,  just let it hang loose and look at the mirror.  If you can see your scalp without moving any hair, then you have low hair density, if you need to  move your hair to see your scalp then you have medium hair density, if your scalp is really hard to see, even after moving your hair then you have high hair density.

3. Measure your ponytail: Put your hair in a ponytail and measure the circumference of the ponytail. If the the circumference is less than 2inches that's low hair density, if it measures 2-3 inches it's medium hair density,  if it measures 4 or more inches that's high hair density. 

 IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING YOUR HAIR DENSITY. 
- It would help you make better choices in the styles you wear and products you use when putting together a healthy hair regimen.
-It helps you identify the type of hairstyles to do e.g thicker hair, styles easier with longer layers and thinner hair with blunt cuts.
