THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE GOING NATURAL.

SIMPLE AND IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT NATURAL HAIR

People often think going natural would help them save money , time, and in fact some people  go natural because they see other people's natural hair flourishing and so on. My dear that’s not how the natural hair game works. I will be telling you some things to know about natural hair.

1. You should know your hair type, texture, porosity and density –(I will be taking about this very soon). Knowing this would help you know the thickness of your hair, your curl pattern, the hair products to use, the perfect regime to follow ,it would also help you to stop comparing your hair with others and you would eventually see your hair growing.

2. Natural hair maintenance is expensive: common lets be real here, you have to spend money on your hair , hope you know you need to buy hair products and those hair products e.g moisturizer, conditioner, oil etc are expensive . It's prize  ranges from 2000 naira upwards ( that’s just for a product). So be prepared to spend.

3. Finding the right product for your hair: it's gonna take a little while to find the perfect products for your hair .  Just keep searching ;)

4. Washday:  Wash day usually takes a whole day, because you may have to prepoo , shampoo, rinse, condition, moisturise, massage and style your hair all in just a day.  It’s a whole lot of work. Are you ready for this?

5. Protective styling: protective styling does not grow your hair, instead it helps you to retain  your hair lengths and tock in the hair thereby  preventing you from touching your hair unnecessarily and  Once the hair is left alone it grows freely.


6. Don’t be intimated by the rate at which other people hair grows: this is because we all have different hair texture, type, density etc. whatever hair regime they follow, works great for them but might not work for you, all you have to do is find the regime that works for you and follow it. Stop comparing your hair with other peoples hair.

7.  Patience, love and care:  every one's hair grows, all you need to do is take care of it rightly and be patient with it.

I didn't say all this to scare you,  I did it just for you to have a little knowledge about natural hair.  Consistency is the key dear.
